I thought this was interesting/depressing. With all the access to information we have, how are so many people either still ignorant or apathetic to animal rights? Not to mention health issues!
One bright spot, literally, is India! And Brazil, UK, Italy, and Germany — keep the upward trend going 🙂 America, step it up already!

Interesting.
Numbers only tell some of the story. I’m not too sure that India is generally much more sympathetic to or informed about animal rights. Most Indian vegetarians I know are vegetarian primarily for cultural or religious reasons and are quite non-receptive to veganism or animal rights discourse. (Here’s hoping my experience is exceptional rather than normal.)
